Accessibility Statement

We want this website to work for everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification or voice control. Here is what we have done and how to tell us about a problem.

In brief

Our target for this site is level AA of WCAG 2.2, the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. Found something that gets in your way? Send the page address and a short description to hello@menuquavix.site and you will hear back within five business days.

What we have done

  • Structure. Each page has one main heading and a logical heading order, landmarks for the header, navigation, main content and footer, and a skip link to the main content.
  • Text. All text is real text, with no text inside images. Body text and buttons meet WCAG contrast requirements, which we check with a contrast tool.
  • Keyboard. Every link, button, menu and form control can be reached and used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline on every background.
  • Images. Meaningful images have text alternatives. Decorative images and the illustrative design mockups are hidden from screen readers, and each mockup has a visible text label.
  • Forms. Every form field has a visible label. Errors are listed in text at the top of the form, and the text you typed is kept when an error is shown.
  • Targets. Buttons, links in navigation and form checkboxes are at least 24 by 24 pixels.
  • Motion. The site has no autoplaying video or animation, and respects the reduced motion setting.
  • Zoom and reflow. Pages work at 400 percent zoom and on narrow screens without sideways scrolling.

How we test

We test with keyboard-only navigation, with the screen readers built into common phones and computers, with browser zoom and at small screen widths. We also run automated checks for contrast, headings, labels and links. Automated tools cannot catch everything, so manual testing comes first.

Known limitations

  • The contact form's security check expires after two hours. If that happens, the form shows a message and keeps the text you typed, so you can send it again.
  • The small mockup screens on the home and concepts pages are decorative illustrations. Their text is not announced by screen readers; the visible caption below each one describes it.
  • Some linked sources are documents published by other organizations, such as PDFs, which may not meet the same standard.

Feedback and contact

If you have trouble using any part of the site, or need information in a different format, email hello@menuquavix.site. Tell us the page address, what you were trying to do and the browser or assistive technology you used. We will reply within five business days and, where we can, fix the problem or provide the information another way.

Our approach for clients

We design client websites to the same standard, WCAG 2.2 level AA [1]. Our guide to the ADA and restaurant websites explains why accessibility matters for businesses open to the public.
